Put Your Own Oxygen Mask On First

12th November 2011Inspiration0 Comments

We are approaching the holiday season and for all of the fun and food and lights and love the season holds, for many, this can be a stressful time.  It’s not necessarily stressed-filled for the wrong reasons, often it’s because we want to be able to give in ways that end up overwhelming us – making the dinner for 20, finding the perfect gift for each of our friends and family, delivering Thanksgiving dinner to the families in need, baking dozens of cookies for the church bizarre, serving Christmas dinner at the soup kitchen. Reflections on 11.11.11

11th November 2011Inspiration0 Comments

If you Google 11.11.11, thousands of websites come up offering interpretations of its meaning.

Rather than ascribing to someone else’s interpretation, I wanted to be conscious today of my own meaning.  What is the significance of 11.11.11 for me? What is the promise it holds for me?  What I have been profoundly aware of today is my AWARENESS. Read More »

4 Steps to Mastering Manifestation

20th October 2011Inspiration0 Comments

Genivieve Behrend isn’t exactly a household name, but she’s someone you’ll want to get to know. Genevieve Behrend was a master manifestor.  She mastered the art and science of manifestation and demonstrated that by manifesting $20K in just 6 weeks.  But here’s the catch… that was in 1912!  Experts say that a comparable amount today is around $450K to $500K!  Have I caught your attention? Some Like It Hot

9th October 2011Inspiration0 Comments

Some like it hot… and I’m becoming one of them!

For the past three weeks I have been a faithful attendee of the 6AM hot yoga class at the Bikram Yoga Studio in Irvine, CA.  I had done a bit of Bikram Yoga this past summer, so I knew what to expect – 26 postures, each repeated twice, in a very specific sequence, bookended by two different breathing exercises, over the course of 90 minutes.  Oh, and the room is heated to 105 degrees and set at 40% humidity… Ya, I know, that’s what I thought at first too.  Read More »

How Is Your Future Memory?

8th October 2011Inspiration2 Comments

The Queen remarked to Alice…One’s memory works both ways.
I’m sure mine only works one way. Alice remarked. I can’t remember things before they happen.  It’s a poor sort of memory that only works backwards, the Queen replied.
~ Through The Looking Glass

It’s a pretty poor memory that only works backwards indeed.  In fact, the most powerful use of our memory is our ‘future memory’.  Huh? Read More »

Burning Ships

24th August 2011Inspiration0 Comments

This week I read this excerpt from Napoleon Hill’s classic, Think and Grow Rich.

“A long while ago, a great warrior faced a situation which made it necessary for him to make a decision which insured his success on the battlefield. He was about to send his armies against a powerful foe, whose men outnumbered his own. He loaded his soldiers into boats, sailed to the enemy’s country, unloaded soldiers and equipment, then gave the order to burn the ships that had carried them. Read More »

The Last Authentic Human Freedom

Viktor Frankl – psychiatrist, holocaust survivor, and author of Man’s Search for Meaning, is the founder of logotherapy, the idea that we shape our experience based on the ideas we hold about that experience.

While in a concentration camp, after his entire family had been murdered, Viktor Frankl wrote a manuscript, which he hid in a secret place. Read More »

The Will – Focus vs Force

13th March 2011Inspiration2 Comments

For the past two months, we have been exploring our six mental faculties. First we looked at imagination, then intuition, and this month we delve into the will.

When President Kennedy asked Dr. Wernher Von Braun what it would take to build a rocket that could carry a man to the moon and bring him back safely to the Earth, Von Braun answered him in five words, “The will to do it. Read More »
